Much of Downtown Jamaica’s commercial district is managed, beautified, and promoted by the nonprofit Downtown Jamaica Partnership (a Business Improvement District or “BID”). Our nonprofit seeks to make the downtown Jamaica business district a thriving business hub and an enjoyable destination to shop, work, live and visit.

About Us

The Downtown Jamaica Partnership (legally known as the Sutphin Boulevard District Management Association, Inc.) is a newly expanded Business Improvement District (BID) that is made up of three former BIDs: the Jamaica Center BID, the Sutphin Boulevard BID and the 165th Street Mall BID.

Our BID's core programming includes the following strategic initiatives:

Enhance: Ensure the district is attractive, welcoming, safe, clean and graffiti-free.

Promote: Conduct creative district marketing campaigns, host special events, encourage visitation and shopper loyalty.

Coordinate: Align the district's retail mix with shopper preferences and connect district businesses with resources needed to succeed.

Advocate: Champion for public improvements, capital investments and economic development initiatives in Downtown Jamaica.

The Downtown Jamaica Partnership is a public-private partnership governed by a Board of Directors and derives its revenues from an annual assessment on all real property located within the boundaries of the BID.
